Restaurant Local SEO · Fresh reporting audit
What can a restaurant learn from its Google Business Profile beyond a large headline number? This Tarbouche | Meet:Street GBP audit separates visibility, direction requests, menu views and chat clicks, then identifies practical checks a restaurant owner can discuss with the profile’s management team.
I occasionally contribute to Google Business Profile work for Tarbouche through Fragmentree. I do not independently manage this account. The figures below are profile-wide results, not results attributed solely to my contribution. This fresh audit was read-only: no changes were made to Tarbouche’s profile.
Source: Google Business Profile Performance, checked on 12 October 2026. The main reporting period is May–September 2026, covering five complete calendar months. Partial October is shown separately.
Verified results for May–September 2026
| Profile metric | Reported total |
|---|---|
| People who viewed the Business Profile | 74,490 |
| Business Profile interactions | 14,815 |
| Direction requests | 8,989 |
| Menu content views | 4,862 |
| Chat clicks | 964 |
| Call actions | 0 |
| Website clicks | 0 |
| Bookings recorded in the profile | 0 |
| Searches that showed the profile in results | 41,428 |
Directions, menu views and chat clicks add up to the reported 14,815 interactions. They describe different actions and should retain their own labels. A zero in the call, website or booking report does not establish that the restaurant received no telephone calls, website visitors or reservations through other routes.
Monthly directions, call actions and interactions
| Complete month | Directions | Call actions | Interactions |
|---|---|---|---|
| May 2026 | 1,946 | 0 | 3,135 |
| June 2026 | 1,516 | 0 | 2,445 |
| July 2026 | 1,591 | 0 | 2,676 |
| August 2026 | 2,085 | 0 | 3,382 |
| September 2026 | 1,851 | 0 | 3,177 |
August had the highest direction-request total within this five-month period. The table alone cannot explain why. Seasonality, restaurant activity, customer demand and work by the wider team may all matter; this audit does not isolate their effects.
Partial October: keep it outside complete-month comparisons
With October selected, the report showed 5,095 profile viewers, 749 interactions, 488 direction requests, 218 menu views and 43 chat clicks at the 12 October 2026 check. Call actions, website clicks and bookings each showed 0.
The daily interaction table showed non-zero values through 9 October and displayed zeros for 10–12 October. Those recent zeros should not be treated as proof of no activity because the report may still be updating. October search-term data was explicitly still being collected and was not available. These are partial, as-available figures, not a completed October result or a like-for-like comparison with September.
How people discovered the profile
For May–September, the platform breakdown showed 44,513 viewers on Google Search mobile, 27,675 on Google Maps mobile, 2,083 on Google Search desktop and 219 on Google Maps desktop. This supports checking the restaurant’s mobile profile experience: can someone quickly find the right branch, read the menu and identify a contact route?
The reported search terms included “restaurants” (9,058), “restaurants near me” (3,033), “tarbouche” (2,608) and “shawarma near me” (1,987). These are discovery terms reported by Google, not ranking positions. Their presence does not prove that a particular optimisation caused the visibility.
Three follow-up checks for the restaurant’s team
- Confirm the branch’s contact routes. The profile view offered “Add place’s phone number” and “Add website”, while both corresponding performance metrics showed zero. The team should verify the correct details for this Balan K Nair Road branch and review what customers can currently access before deciding on any edit.
- Review menu usefulness on mobile. The report recorded 4,862 menu views and prompted the team to add its own menu. Check whether current dishes, prices and readable images are available and accurate. The prompt alone does not prove that all menu content is missing.
- Measure what happens after an action. Confirm how chat handoffs are handled and use a simple owner-maintained enquiry record to distinguish genuine conversations, reservations and attributable orders from clicks and direction requests.
These are audit recommendations for the business’s team. They have not been implemented as part of this read-only review.
What this case study does—and does not—show
This is a dated reporting and profile audit, not a before-and-after claim of my independent work. Profile actions are not confirmed calls, visits, enquiries or sales. Chat clicks do not prove a conversation happened, and direction requests do not prove someone arrived.
The previous May–September reference, checked on 2 October, showed 73,124 viewers, 14,584 interactions and 8,899 directions. The fresh report now shows different totals for the same selected months. This page uses the newly verified figures; the reason for the revision was not established by this audit.
